rotor housing lapping?

what excalty is this and how is it done, and can must compent machine shops do it. was told it is like cylinder honing but for rotories, this is for a 91 n/a first rebuild

lapping removes the little groove at the 3 and 9 o clock positions that comes from corner and side seal wear . . . I don't know of any shops that do it.

yes thats what it is. you can send it to atkins rotary, mazdatrix, or racingbeat. all reputable.

Also Rotorsports Racing in Kannapolis, NC (30 miles north of Charlotte) does the lapping on rebuilds. They rebuilt mine last summer and it is great.
