renesis porting

I was just searching around the internet and saw a few shops offer bridgeporting for the rx8 engines now. I was wondering if anyone has heard of the powergains, powerband of ported renesis engines.

I remember when the engine first came out they claimed 240hp, then when it actually was sold, down to 227. And people weren't gaining much power from bolt ons

Renesis makes 180ish hp and 130ish tq to the wheels....
the most i've seen people net from bolt-ons is 220ish hp with a reflash...

its gonna take a good while before we see any side-port renesis making anything over 375hp

What about with a port job? I'm curious to see the powerband and peak hp on those street ported and bridgeported renesis engines. I'm curious about about the non turbo application mainly because aggresive older style 13bs usually sacrifice a lot of low end powerband for peak

in a way the Renesis is already ported from the factory. the casting is too thin to easily allow much port work. Now there are some really mild exhaust port jobs done and I think a couple people have bridgeported them now. check on rx8club.com

Actually, people have already hit over 400rwhp with turbo Renesis motors, stock kegs (no porting, factory seals, etc).

That was about 2 years ago.

Here's a good thread on renesis porting over at the RX8club: http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=173190. The side port exhaust and lack of room to work on the intake ports make the task interesting.

there are a few bridged Renesis engines out there. off hand, i can't think of any that still run N/A, but for details check over at Rx-8Club. the only user i can think of right now is ChrisRX8PR (or something like that).

EDIT: just perused RotaryRocket88's link and i guess now i have an N/A bridge that will stay in my memory.
