Removing refrigerant

Hey guys! Im currently trying to remove the ac/ac lines out of my 95 Rx7. How do I safely get rid of the refrigerant? Any recommendations? Car is currently not running so cant take it anywhere. I found another post but it was from 2002 and didn’t have a lot of information.

If you don't care about the environment just let er go it wont hurt you. But if you do care its kinda hard to do keep unless you get a set of gauges and something to discharge it into.
Under the red and blue caps there's a schrader valve that lets it out.

If you don't have a refrigerant recovery rig, you can just vent it to the atmosphere (shh, don't tell the EPA or militant tree-huggers I said that). But there is a CORRECT way to do it so you don't also blow most of the refrigerant lube out with the R12 or R134a gas. Of course I'm presuming you'll want to re-charge and use this A/C system some day.

- Hook up an A/C manifold gauge set to your low & high pressure service fittings
- The manifold gauge set's yellow charging hose will be left open to the air on one end - loosely wrap a paper towel around that end so you can gauge how much lube is coming out with the gas
- Crack open the low & high pressure charging valves very slightly; you just want to slowly throttle the gas out - if the paper towel is getting soaked with lube, you cracked the valves open too much and you'll want to throttle them back. When you have it so only gas is escaping, leave it that way until both high & low gauges on the manifold set show zero pressure.
