removing engine
I have recently become interested in RX7s and rotary engines. In order to understand them better I thought it would be fun to take one apart that I found at a junkyard. The guy at the junkyard said that I could have the engine for $25 if I took it out my self or $100 to have him take it out. I was wondering what tools I would need to remove the engine on a second gen RX7 with a 13B motor.

You should buy a Haynes manual first. It outlines the removal process very well. It doesn't spell out every size socket you will need, but at least you will get an idea of what you have to do. You can also download the Mazda Factory Service Manual at www.fc3s.org on the left, click on "how To's", then in the menu that drops down click on "manuals" then select the year of the car you want. Each chapter is 1 file in a PDF format so you need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the files. Its not to difficult to dissasemble a rotary engine. Go to http://www.howstuffworks.com/rotary-engine.htm to see the insides of the engine and how the moving parts work (in motion and still pics). Its pretty informative.
like 84 types -get a book , you can put every tool you will need in a tool box and take to the job sight if the yard will hoist it out when you are done,or get a 2x4 and chain with two semi strong people to lift it out . do it for fun you will learn so much. ,
