removing air pump
hi im looking to remove my air pump on my fd, jus wondering wat has to be done to take it off, wat parts do you need and also wat belt will i need for the altinator??

To take it off, you should have some kind of aftermarket exhaust that doesn't require the use of an air pump. The rotary engine creates a lot of exhaust for a small engine. The air pump pushes cool air into the exhaust to assist the catalytic converters in processing the emissions. Removing it will accelerate the death of the cats which has a high potential of clogging the exhaust path. On some newer vehicles it could cause poor engine performance due to the exhaust gas oxygen sensors detecting poor emissions and the engine altering the fuel mixture and spark timing to compensate. I'm not sure if an FD is new enough for this to happen. I know they stopped bringing them to the US because of low sales volume but also because of the requirement came out for the OBD II system in all cars and it raised the standards for emissions controls.

jus wondering is it hard to take off?? like wat has to be blocked up and ill need a new belt, wat one is to be used??

You can remove it and should block off the ACV. I wouldn't do this unless you are running aftermarket ECU, I heard the stock ECU can give idle issues. I run PowerFC so I havent experienced this.
I would also get a pulley kit before doing this, as your belt will make very little contact with the water pump and slip. The Greddy kit I believe comes with the correct belt.
