Rebuilt engine running in with Power FC base map

Hi guys,

Just a quick question, I have a FD3s with a newly rebuilt engine and have done over 1200 miles on it. It has a single turbo, Apexi Power FC on Base map, HKS induction, downpipe, midpipe, and catback all 3". Now my question is so far I've done the first 1000 miles or so driving upto 4000 rpm with little (4-5 psi) to no boost as instructed by my engine builder. Is it now okay to increase the rev range slightly higher like in the 5000+ range again keeping little (4-5psi) to no boost whilst I wait to get the car mapped bearing in mind the Apexi is on the Base map? Will this help with running in?

Thanks

Keep in mind the PFC base map is for a STOCK FD running on higher octane Japanese gas. With any other car I probably wouldnt give it a second thought but Im sure you know how critical tuning is on a turbo rotary. Even changing little things like exhaust and intake will make for a dangerous situation on an ECU tuned for a bone stock car. Your car is far from stock so Id be careful. Youve done 1000 miles already, Id just go have it tuned.

Ina ny case the best is to have it tuned asap. For now I would consider to have it on the MOD map. because this one gives more fuel and is prepared for a car with intake, midpipe and exhaust. So fuel wise you'll be safer than with the base map.

Base map is thesame as OEm except for some extra fuel to compensate for intake and and catback.

The PFC manual states intake and catback are the mods to be done on Base map, everything else on mod map.

Please also check your PFC setting for non sequential use (see manual) so the PFC can already adapt to non sequential use (or single). Still the type of turbo you got will determine correct injexctor duty at the right place in your rpm range.
