does it try to turn over at all when you turn the key?

i'm thinking poor ground or fried fusible links, but i'll need more info

No it doesn't turn over at all, but it is not just starting the car but all other power is gone. None of the lights or anything will work

okay ... well, it sounds like your fusible links then. check all of them, it might even be worth converting it to the Gen II fuse block ...

whatever you do, DO NOT just replace the links with wire or you'll be asking for trouble!

Are there just two fuseable links? One bye the suspension mount and another by the steering column

to be honest, i don't know how many the SE's have (never had one) but i can say that the other Gen I cars had 3, so i'm guessing the SE's have 3 as well ... and yes, they are located on the left side strut housing (towards the front)

they should say something like ... headlamp, retractor and something ... (I forgot ... )

ok i have another problem. Now my starter won't start running even when the key is out. So i took it out and took it to the auto parts store to have it checked and it works fine. so i put it back in and it work fine for about 5 start ups and now it is not working again. Any suggestions?

not quite sure what you mean by this ...

if you're having sporadic trouble starting the car, i would say check your battery terminals, the ground wire connection to the block, or see if you need a relay in the starter circuit ...

but before you check or touch anything, explain what you mean, because i don't want to tell you something that might not be right based on my misunderstanding your question ...

i would grad a chiltons, haynes and the manuals that mazdatrix offers,

if you know your rx7 then a chiltons and haynes will do,

the haynes is good for everything but electrical,
thats where the chiltons comes in

Ok, when the car is running the starter runs at a very high speed while not ingaged in the flywheel. so i took it off the car and took it down to the auto parts store and they could find anything wrong with it so i put it back on the car and it worked fine for about 5 starts then it began to run again. Somebody on said that it could be that the solenoid was stuck. i don't know though.
