Rebuild with two Rear Rotor Housings?

Hello,
I am rebuilding my FD engine and I was looking for a front housing and the guy sent me another rear.
I was wondering if I can use the rear as a front housing and not have a problem? I know there is a vertical port in the front one in front of the exahust port on the factory front one but I am not running any emssions on the car.
Let me know if anyone has done this and if it worked or not.
