rebuild or leave it alone

i have 75 comp in the front and 65 comp in the rear when i got my compression tested. my friend says thats all right. is this true or should i do the rebuild as soon as possible or can i get to and from school with the occasional redline. becuz i dont have money to do the rebuild now going straight broke. also with adding exaust does that make my chances higher to blowing a seal in this condition. with this in mind should i keep getting the compression tested or should the compression stay the same for a while. sorry for all the questions, thanx for the help in advance

Sounds like a very high-mileage engine, and even if you tear it down right this minute there's no guarantee the components such as housings and end plates are re-useable. But if you run it until it throws an apex seal you'll definitely need at least one new housing and rotor.

So it's six of one, half a dozen of the other. I'd say if money is a problem right now just run it till it quits. Used engines run about $600 and RX7 Specialties will sell you a very good rebuilt for around $2100.
