Racingbeat holley carb base plate and vac questions

I rebuilt a12a streetport and just made the break in period..... noticed the secondaries didn't seem to be kicking. Poor spray when manually activated and noticed some secondary shaft play. Pulled the carb and compared it to another holley I had. I know the ports need equalized and this carb has it but my spare for a bridge has MUCH more equalizing ports on the underside. Should I swap my base plates? And how much shaft play is ok? And do I need a full carb gasket or would this work? I worried about using the gasket shown for too much fuel sharing between the primary and secondary. Thoughts?
