this is a question for someone that is knowledgable about the car air management system and combustion: is it possible that a product like the tornado show little HP gains on the dyno, but under actual driving conditions give significant HP gains to the car? at stand still (on a dyno) the car intake system wouldnt have air coming at it at fast speeds. but on a highway, the air would be hitting the intake system with considerable speeds. can this factor introduce an effect on the combustion on a piston car? how about on a rotary car?

Think about this, if you already have air velocity from the vehicle's speed, what good is a fan going to do?! It would first have to MATCH the wind velocity then EXCEED it in order to give you ANY gains. It gives you as much performance boost as racing stripes.

 

The tornado spins the air to increase fuel atomization, duh.

Unless you're running some sort of "ram-air" system the amount of air ingested by the engine will be pretty close to constant. The velocity of the air will probably also be pretty close to constant after the filter element.

I have heard that at least one of the mags managed to pull gains out of one of these aluminum insert in intake tract and make hp & mpg things but i haven't succeeded in finding it. And i'm not that worried about it.
