Question about quiksteel

anyone ever had a problem with useing quiksteel or simialar product? I put some in my "silencer" for my muffler and now after I drive around, it sticks like a dead skunk in a toaster oven. is this a tempory smell? i figured maybe after a couple of days i'd stop. any input?
