question about porting/rebuild S4 TII
I am like braindead right now and can't believe I don't know the answer to this question. I think I have finally decided to rebuild the whole motor myself and port it in the process, so here's my question: Concerning the primary intake ports (in the intermediate housing) how much do you port them if any at all? I was thinking that you port all 4 intake ports the same, but now after reviewing some internal motor pics I am thinking otherwise. I am tearing the motor down tonight, but from what I could see through the exhaust ports I found a HARILINE crack in an apex seal on the rear rotor. It is just enough to not wipe all the oil off of the wall of the rotor housing, but leaves a tiny line behind (how I know its cracked). To put it in perspective, I can't even feel it with my fingernail with everything compressed together in there. The motor is pretty low miles and I cracked the seal because I was rushing to finish the car for the annual racing event and forgot to tighten the CAS nut! You would know I blew the motor at a moderate 10 psi and full rich just to find out that the timing was FULL advanced! I guess that's just typical of me to miss such a stupid detail getting distracted. This is strange becuase I have never seen a blown motor car run SO well before. The car will start right up on the first crank and EVEN IDLE at 750!! The compression test was like 90-50-50. BTW the car has a to4 60-1 HIFI with a P trim turbine and .96 (which I am gonna switch with a smaller one its TOO LAGGY!). Please let me know what you guys think I should do.
