question about my fb

the other day i noticed my car is running on 1 coil and i found that both work. if i hook it all up right only one works,i can pull the 2 trail wires it still runs like it has been,but if i pull the 2 lead wires it dies, i have no idea whats up! if anyone can help me out thatd be awesome
