Pulsation dampener problems continue

I have a 1984 gsl se and i had a leaking pulsation dampener it smelled of gas whenever i drove and i could see it leak slowly. I replaced the faulty dampener with a banjo bolt with no problem, the idle is a little off until it warms up now but its not a big deal. The persistent gas smell is gone but when i drove on the highway now i get a very strong smell of alcohol, does anyone have any idea what could be causing it?

Are you sure you don't have a coolant leak instead?

I work on FC's, so I dunno how similar your GSL-SE is...

The crush washer (on the inside) can be easily misaligned on installation for FC's.
I've got the problem right now. :P
I've been fighting a faint smell of gas only when the car boosts (FPR is boost dependent so fuel pressure goes up under boost), and I spotted the misaligned crush washer recently.
