Power dropped suddenly

1987 Turbo II

While driving, the power from my engine dropped suddenly so bad that I was barely able to drive the car. The lack of horsepower was just like a clogged fuel filter, so I replaced it. Engine ran fine for about 20 minutes after that, then the power dropped again. I have checked the new fuel filter and it's not clogged. Any ideas what could be wrong???

What happens when the power drops off? Or more importantly when does it happen? Is it missing the power all of the time now? Does it smell like gas? Does it flood?

It does it all the time now...as for what happens, the power just drops...there's no sound or anything. no smell of gas. Both times it happened when I was driving. The first time was just after I got off the interstate and driving on normal roads, and the second time was while i was on the interstate. I had to get off the interstate because I couldn't get enough power to keep up my speed on hills.

dying coil possibly? sounds like fuel or spark is getting cut to one rotor. this is the description people give when they blow an apex seal and lose a rotor. except yours is intermittent. i'd check your leading coil and perhaps infectors. you might have a bad connection at an injector or some fault in the wiring. thats my half educated guess.
