powder coating
Thanks. They took about 45 minutes each. It's can very based on the material becuase the important part is that the part needs to reach the curing temp (about 400 degrees). I use an IR themometer to check the temp of the part. Each piece has two layers of powder. The color layer and then a clear coat.
I got lucky with the housing and irons because everything went well. Unlike the water pump housing. I hit it with chrome powder and everything was fine. I then applied the Silver sparkel and baked. The poweder had a reaction and wrinked. Had to strip it and start all over. No more chrome under silver sparkel.

Finished the rebuild of my engine with the help of Trochoid. I think it came out nice. I'll be working on a complete build thread in a couple of weeks. I'm taking the entire week of Thanksgiving off to put everything together. Irons are powder coated in black chrome and the aluminum parts in silver sparkle.

The powedercoating looks awesome but about the above. If those are solid corner seals I believe you have them in upside down. The dished side should be facing out if they are aftermarket solid corners.(?)
