Exclamation Plz help Synchro problem

hi

i recently purchased an '89 GTU and in order to shift into first gear you have to do it very softly from what the guy told me. well i called a good friend of mine and he told me it might be the bushing for the first gear synchro. if this is the case, can someone tell me how much it will cost and where can i get it done or if someone can really tell me if that is really issue any help would really be appreciated. i would like to get that issue fixed before any damage is done. pm anybody with any ideas plz.

Try run some good synth in the trans to see if this will help.
This would be the cheap / easy option.

If the synchro needs to be replaced, it's basically a transmisson rebuild, cause the trans needs to be opened up.
Shops charge hundred and hundreds of dollars to do this.
Since you got it opened, you might as well rebuild the whole thing.
Don't be surprised you get quotes of $1,000+...
