Plug fouling

I'm going to get pictures up soon, but I believe my plugs fouled due to a weak battery (and hence spark) and flooding in my '88 SE. It would seem to cut to one rotor or something the other day after some hard driving. I would be driving down the road, and suddenly lose power. Nothing but slight throttle would accomplish anything, and it wouldn't go over 3k. It would then just sort of clear up and run strong. It did this about 5 times on my trip home. Does this sound like a probable cause, and would running fine for a while clean them up some? They're black, but not too bad.
