PCV works too well, fouls out plugs

Well, after reading the thread on how to install a Dodge V6 Caravan PCV valve onto my emissionless 1980 12A installed in 1973 RX-2 I now find that my #2 rotor spark plugs are getting oil fouled to the point where they severely mis-fire and my power goes to about 1/2.

I'm running a hose from the oil filler neck, to the PCV valve (threads going to intake) then to the vacuum nipple underneath the carb, right above the #2 rotor.

This engine is quite worn and does have a LOT of blowby. So much apparently that I have noticed a pattern of plug fouling from oil on the #2 side. I put hose clamps on all of these connections trying to track down some vacuum leaks and now it's even worse. The #2 plugs are so fouled they stopped firing completely.

I'm going to disconnect the PCV from the intake for now, clean the plugs, and then to an extended drive test to see if the plugs clean up and stay that way, confirming my theory. IF they do, I'll have to find a less eco-friendly way to deal with the blow-by from this engine.

It's just too much apparently - between the fouled plugs and the mess under the hood, I think it's time to explore rebuilding options. One thing I've heard is that oil burners like this one are good candidates for rebuilding since they get SO much lube in the combustion chambers . . . I guess I'll be finding out sometime this year.

If anyone has any thoughts on what to do for a PCV system that doesn't involve routing the fumes back into the manifold, please reply.

thanks

use a catch can ... that's what it's for.

You can even make one yourself ... Do a search on google, I am sure you'll find lots of info.
