im running a built up 89 turbo, i have large turbo, fuel system and ported engine. also have aluminum koyo radiator and front mount intercooler. the problem im having is overheating i think the problem is that the stock fan could not fit any more it was running right into the turbo. now i had my tuner build up a bracket and put 2 electric fans in but i dont think they are strong enough for the job (they look like cheap china crap) and dont blow anywhere near what the stock fan did. my question is if i where to replace those with 2 good flex-a-lite fans would they fit the bracket? would it fix my problem?

What temp is "overheating"???
Without members being psychic can you post a pic of the fan setup?
Unless the "new fans" are meant for that bracket then I can assume that you would need to fab a bracket/mount to get them to fit.
Have you considered an alternative single fan setup,like the Merc Villager Fan or the Taurus or V6 Fiero fan?..(they pretty well fit the koyo Rad).

Also what series of car is this in?

I was thinking that my best option is probably to take a fan out and take it to the speed shops in Calgary and Match up the bolt holes to see if a higher flowing fan will work out
If not I'd have to get another bracket which I hope I don't have too

i have two similar sized fans on my rx7 ( custom V mount , custom rad ) and they work just fine

would get a infra red thermometer and look closer at the rad
suspect maybe a baffle for the top tank is passing and everything is hot on the one side where the outlets and inlets are

I do not see any shrouding on that setup so the fans are not being efficient.
NO offense but if you are trying to replace that setup you are gonna hit a wall as it will just act the same way..Still not being efficient as the air is not being routed through the fans and not Totally through the rad as that is what the shrouding would do.It would suck air through the rad where the Fan is NOT present.
I tell ya I swear by the Merc Villager fan.I got mine on HI and the car stays at 185 all day long.
I just had to cut an inch of plastic and make 4 Four inch brackets and I had it on in 20 minutes.

 

Bump start do you run any shrouding on you fans? I'm leaning towards the clogged rad as the car dosent really run hot in town, more so on the highway

 

My overheating problem was due to my upper rad hose kinking really bad while highway driving and not flowing enough, replaced it with a bendy hose and seems fine
