Overheating

Well, I know that when a rotory overheats its toast... Why does it still run and is able to drive?? I recently bought a 91 that was said to have never overheated. and I drove it for a wk and no problems... So I came home from Reno to Vegas and.... THE OVERHEATING BEGAN ....

I took out the thermostat in hopes that it would run a lil cooler, and Im running 70% Antifreeze -30% water which should make the boiling point somewhere around 265.

I checked the water pump by turning the car on while the cap is off and water popped out for like 2 seconds and then I could see the water flowing freely inside the hose.

HELP me out with some answers please?

I hope I dont have to friggin do a swap already.

Oh, and the overheating buzzer comes on, then off, then on, then off depending on the road circumstances. and so i figured it was a short or soemthing..... but now every once and a while It actually over heats to the point the waters boiling out of the overfill....

Is my motor toast? It still runs great though....
