overheated my rx7 back in jan 01

well guys have a question I overheaated my rx7 back in like jan 2001 I think, Now I know they say that the first over heat kills your car. I have to disagree cuz my car is fine even though i didnt drive that long after I blew a hose, the car still runs perfect No smoke of any kind on start up or driving just my oil temp broke. Can anybody explain this for me. Now I run an aftermarket airfilter, and the only other mod I made after the over heat was I installed a high flow cat and stiaght piped it from there and this f--er is loud and has great pick up so if any one can explain the over heat that would be great thank

then u didn't actually overheat it to the point of damaging the rotor housings. I've seen the damage it does and there's no way it would run, it would loose too much compression.

yeah, it sounds like you caught it before damage occurred. the type of overheating that usually causes damage is when the temperature goes up quickly (and unevenly)
