Online Specialty tool Rental??

Any interest in Online Specialty tool Rental??

IE:
Pilot Bearing puller
Flywheel locks
Engine Bearing Press Tools
etc

The way it would work:

You Pay rental fee, postage and a deposit
Tool is shipped to you, with a pre-paid return address label
You use tool then return it
When tool is received back, your deposit is returned

Any SERIOUS interest?

Yes, if these are tools I cannot just simply drive to AutoZone to rent.

How about adding in engine stand adaptors?

Also, would there be any sort of time limit to the rental? There needs to be a balance between how long a person can have a tool for not only concerns of them not returning it, but in the case that there is a queue waiting on that tool. Then again, you want to give people ample time to use the tool, as projects rarely work out exactly as planned.

Need a bit more information as to how much the deposit would be, time limits, complete tool selection, and so on.

Engine Stand Adaptors would be available.

The time element is crucial here. My initial thoughts are 30 day rentals, with a shorter (read Cheaper) rental available. Anything after 45 days will result in the forfeitature of the deposit.

The deposit amount will be the same way the chain stores handle it.: Equivlent to the repplacement cost of the item.

Sounds like a cool idea to me. I'm a bit of a tool junkey though, and tend to buy rather than rent. I might use the service for those once in a lifetime tools though.

Then I'd be for it...

I'll be needing to acquire some clutch-specific tools soon, either renting or buying. I would definately be interested in renting, say, and engine stand adaptor and flywheel removal tools when my motor pops.
