ok help me out guys
i dont own an RX7 nor have i ever. i have a question for the guys who should know this best.
for a specific 93 and up mazda RX7, what does it state in owners manual that the rotary engine out of that specific vehicle will be reliable up to? or should be replaced at what mileage?
from what i remember a lot of my FD friends used to say that the motor is only rated to last between 80000 to 90000 miles. is there any truth in this?
sorry for being a noob here on this.... this discussion was posted on www.sanantonioracing.net

no thats not entirely correct. im pretty sure it doesnt state that, but most of them do only last that long because they havent been properly cared for. ive seen a few 3rd gens that have over 100k miles on the original engine and ive seen some that only last 50k. the main reason is most people do not know how to take care of a car.

My friend's FD has a little under 110K miles on the original engine... It alll really comes down to how well you take care of the engine. And I think that 80-90K lifetime is either an approximation or an average... I wouldn't pay to much attention to it.
