oil leak?!

i looked at an rx-7 yesterday and when the car backed out i noticed alot of oil leakage on the ground. when i asked the seller about this he said that it was normal and it happens often with rotary engines.

i know nothing about cars and whatever is inside (im only 16) i was wondering if there is a permanent solution to this leak and if its possible to avoid it in the future

thanks

if its the o-rings then you'll have to tear down the motor

hopefully its the oil pan though
then it will be just a few bucks for a new gasket

look real hard and find out where the oil is coming from
