oil in the dash????

hey does anyone have a clue why I have oil coming out the dash end of my speedo cable ???? 88 non turbo 2nd gen.......

the o-ring in the transmission is bad/missing.

what this means is its traveling up the speedo cable into the dash from the trans pressure.
