Oil cooler cleaning...
Anyone have any ideas on how to get an oil cooler cleaned save sending it to RB or someone else who does ultrasonic. As in, something I can do with simple hand tools and a large monkey.

I cleaned mine with a ton of foamy engine brite degreaser and carb cleaner, shook it around a while and then blew it out with compressed air. The vanes I did the same as above only I then used small *** picks and screwdrivers to remove rocks and straighten the vanes out. Worked great. I found that most places here in L.A. won't clean things anymore due to hazmat laws.

I guess I should have read further into those threads. I got to the 'Aircraft place' and stopped... I worked at a local Aircraft Repair station, and we sent ours out (and it was a ton of $).
Thanks! I think I'll give the pump/solvent/time version a try.

Wait... He hooked the cooler to his fuel pump (on his car) and the other pump from the cooler to the tank (gas tank?? on the car?) and cycled it through? Does the extra oil in the tank that you just gathered by cleaning the cooler do anything to the car? smoke??
Or do you let the fuel empty out after your done by taking off the cooler and letting the FP pump it all out??
Just a silly question.
