OK, im so confused... the car will start every time no problem for 6 months and then bam everything electrical turns on but nothing from engine bay no crank noise no anything. then i hit the starter with a screwdriver/hammer and then turn key and it starts right up again.. what is this problem!? i have no idea even how to explain this to a mechanic and give him something to look for... any help would be super thx

Plain and simple, your starter is bad, just needs to be replaced
