No dyno. What to do?
No dyno. What to do?
Hi,
I am in Mauritius where there are only 4 FD3s. We have no dyno facilities.
Through my own misjudgement I have suffered 2 rebuild situations, and this time I want to do things right.
Ok, I know I can't trust my Autometer AF meter much, well, not enough to tune with.
I think I have to get a wideband O2 sensor. So, can anyone point me in the right direction for 2 things:
1. What equipment should I buy.
2. How should I use it? i.e. permanently installed to the vehicle, or attached to my exhaust tip during test runs.
What else do you huys recomment for street tuning the car once I have the Power FC installed.
Thanks guys
Trevor

Here's an interesting option:

No display, but if you have a PowerFC and Datalogit, you can log the AFRs and use the info to tune.
It says that you can use a "standard" A/F gauge with the narrow-band output, too, but I am skeptical that it might not be too accurate since the gauge might not really be setup to expect an accurate signal (it might be off by a bit since no one expects a narrow band to have an accurate signal anyway). You could probably build a display that would be accurate, though, without too much trouble.
There is always the TechEdge units as well, which are low priced and have a display option. http://www.techedge.com.au/
