hey guys i have a 94 rx7, i have a big problem its hard to get the engine to turnover. i just got a new starter and battery the starter and battery were bad but now its hard to get the engine to turnover the sarter is working but it just want turnover. also when i'm drive and try to floor it i get no boost but it happens only sometimes like if i stop then go the boost will work. does anyone know what wrong? could it be a fuel problem like fuel fliter or fuel ragilator. oh ya i have no money to take it to a mechanic.

If the engine is hard to turn-over at startup, check anything that's connected to the engine. Check alternators, Air Conditioner compressors and anything belt-driven. They all should spin freely. Normally, you can hook a wrench onto the alternator's nut and turn it with a wrench CLOCKWISE. it SHOULD (but not always mind you) turn everything, including the engine. If it doesn't turn the enige, don't worry; it may just be too loose (the belt) to do so. If you have the car in neutral when starting and it still turns rather hard, then that sounds a lot like a bad starter; if you got a remanufactured starter, then don't count on it being good; I've seen quite a few remanufactured starters that still had quite worn-out brushes and even stripped planetary-gears (not your problem). More than often, the cheap batteries aren't the best in the world also. Try taking to AutoZone and have them "Load-Test" your battery; it's free.
As for the boost problem, you most likely need to replace the vacuum hoses that go to and from the Turbo unit. They commonly go bad and need replacment. Check for stuck actuators on the turbos (wastegate and blow-off valve). Also, remember that if you're not giving it around 1/2 throttle, it'll not spool (the turbo) very fast and that means not very much boost. Also check for a leaky intercooler and the related tubing. You should see full boost at around 4k under a load (read: 4th gear).
Hope this helps,
Matt
