New Radiator doesnt fit old brackets

I bought a new koyorad radiator to replace my older koyorad and the side mounting locations are about half an inch longer so my brackets are too short. The new rad I bought was from koyorad, not ebay or any rep ****, and its for an 86-88 rx7 mine being 88. Am I dumb and do these just not mount on to the oem brackets even tho its for the year?

any advice on how to fix would be appreciated.

Is it possible they sent you the Koyo radiator for an 89-91 FC? It is a different part #, so perhaps they sent you the wrong one.
