ok so i thought i new what rotary i have in my 73 wagon but now im stumped again!

Figured id give a little explanation!

so ive got a 12a from what i believe to be from a 1st gen. rx-7 in my 73 rx-3 wagon.

Today i was tearing the intake and carby off and there are 2 diff ports than what im used to seeing!

this is what i thought i had minus the racing beat name!


What i have!

 

Found that the gasket on it doesnt fit proper either, it covers almost half the 2 middle ports!!!

 

hahah i might have to go back to school b4 i go any further!!! was typing so quick my spelling looked like a 1st grader in the first quote, LOL

 

well i have determined they are coolent ports! Thankx all!~

 

I don't get what you're asking, the first pic is an after market intake manifold with an after market 4bbl carb, and air filter. Your second pic is of a stock 12a Intake manifold.

On the stock intake manifold there are 4 intake ports (2oval ones in the center, and 2 oval ones on either side) and 2 coolant ports (the 2 round ones) and an EGR port (rectangle.)

 

Oh, I see you have figured it out haha. Didn't you figure that out when you pulled the manifold off and coolent spilled everywhere?!?! Or was it already off the car.
