Need help with technical terminalogy used

Please help? I have searched but have not found an explanation of terms used in this forum. Is there one?

The current term I have run into is "j-spec", I gather describing a particular gen II engine?????

I am exploring my options on an RX3 build project and have been recomended to get a j-spec then rebuild engine to my requirements for install into my RX3.

Any info???

And no I have no pictures of the car yet!

"j-spec" means it would be a japanese spec engine, such as the 13b-re or a 99 or newer 13b-rew.

Yea, you buy from a dealer that sells engines from JDM land, japan.

The engines are usually in good physical condition, as in no corrosion, etc. Most of them are not good internally though, and almost all of them need a rebuild as they'll have coolant/oil/apex seals that need to be replaced, thus the rebuild advice.

Atkinsrotary I believe gets these in, and rotaryengine.ca is also a good place for getting that. I've been told that rotary engine sells to atkins and landers, just a rumour.
