Need help with Brake light switch

I am a little confused and am hoping someone here can help out. I have a 1994 FD that has a problem with the brake lights staying on. I ran the problem down to the switch attached to the brake pedal assembly. The switch has a small pin that protrudes and is pressed in when the brake pedal is not pushed on. But strangely my car has a hole where the pin goes - meaning that nothing pushes the pin in. I looked at the drawing for part FD01-43-30XB and I cannot see any part to fill in the hole and the drawing does not show the part that should push against the pin. I put an arrow on the drawing pointing to the place is in the assembly. The problem is that I cannot see behind where the arrow is to see what actually pushes the pin in. I wonder if anyone here knows what part pushes the brake pedal light switch pin in. Even a photo of an FD brake pedal assembly would probably answer my question.

I own a fc, not a fd.

“Most” cars use a rubber plug that goes into that hole on the brake pedal which the brake switch plunger presses against. The rubber plug gets brittle and falls apart, leaving pieces on the floor and the brake lights stay on. I e seen this setup on my fc, Hondas, Nissans, etc. it may be the same thing for the fd.

you are correct in saying you just need a picture to verify this is what you need.

Thank you for the info - I think you are correct and this $1.00 part probably fell apart over time and I just need a part number!
