My FC is a mess! NEED HELP!
Hello.
I recently acquired a 1988 RX-7 vert with a na 13b 5 speed. I am new to the whole rotary engine thing but not to cars at all. I am at a loss on this car, so this is the story.
I traded one of my 240sx that had a lexus v8 swap in it for this pretty clean 1988 vert. The guy i got it from said the guy he got it from was in the process of putting a turbo on it and never finished it, so he put all the NA stuff back on and tried to get it back to stock. Well i got it back to my shop and the first thing i did was do a compression test and it passed with 90ish psi at operating temp. Well it fires right up but runs really weird (to me) ideals about 2k rpm and hesitates alot, feels like a vaccum leak to me but i cant find it. I noticed today that on the passenger side of the engine it looks like a smog pump or something similar, well thats all disconnected and the holes are like rtv. First question is what is this and if its not necessary can i delete it properly? Also there are a few wires that look like chassis grounds that are not groundef to anything they are just there and dont look oem. Also nothiced the o2 sensor and pressure sensor is not conected along with a few other plugs by the thermostat housing. I just dont even know where to start really. I am in Florida so we have no emissions so what can be deleted and the car run the way it should? Id like to simplify it as much as possible without just throwing a carb on it like everyone is telling me to do. Can anyone please help me asap. Thanks in advance!
