Motor Trend Magazine 11/04. Give bad review of Pettits tuning capabilities.
November 2004 issue of Motor Trend Magazine test Pettit Racing RX8...
Reviews on page 154 of the magazine.....
Pettit Supercharger kit 4 PSI $3,800.00
Pettit Supercharger kit 8 PSI $5,000.00
Pettit Handling Kit. Tein coil over shocks $1,499.00
Anti-roll bars (33mm front, $179.00; 19mm rear, $155.00)
Pettit Racing one-piece front bumper and MazdaSpeed side flares $495.00
Pettit $1,950.00 brake kit.
>> 2004 RX8 2004 Pettit RX8
0-60mph 6.0 5.7
1/4 mile 14.5@95.4 mph 14.1@99.3 mph
Braking 60-0 115 feet 118 feet
Slalom 68.1 mph 67.5 mph
Skidpad 0.87g 0.89g
Quote from the magazine.
"Although Pettit's wares add to the car's edge and shave a few tenths, the drop in driveability, a slower slalom speed, and no return on the brake-kit investment indicate that when cars perform as well from factory as the RX8 does, maybe "good enough" should be left alone."

Well look at the numbers...would you really like to drop 5k into your motor and still run mid to low 14's. I for one, would not be happy. A 2k brake kit that the number said didnt help any...the numbers dont lie. Although on the otherside of the coin, I'm sure the brake would be an improvment in a tracking situation, helping to reduce fade and such.

lol, go to www.pettitracing.com
in there media section they explain what happened with the motor trend add, turns out the car that they did brake tests with, had STOCK brakes, the same car before the s/c was running low 15's and such.

Those #'s suck PERIOD ! ! !
You can easily get better #'s with less cash from a n/a ! ! !
**** give me $5000 and see how fast my car would go ! ! !
and that not including a brand new car on top of it.
