Mods I can do before I need a PowerFC

Can someone tell me the mods I can do before I will need to get a computer. I just dont want to spend 1k on a computer yet. Just curious if I can do the exhaust, midpipe, downpipe, and intake. How much rwhp can I get out of this.

Well there are other ECUs you can get and you'll need one before all those mods. I would make the ECU your third mod. Like do Intake and Downpipe then ecu, or downpipe and catback, then ecu. Even with those two mods keep an eye on the boost gauge and make sure you don't spike too much.

You can only do three mods before needing an upgraded ECU.

Such as: Intake, Downpipe & Catback

BEFORE you do any other mods.....be sure to add a boost gauge! You must be able to monitor your turbos in order to properly take care of them. Also, a turbo timer would be in order (or you can jusy ALWAYS remeber to idle for 3 to 5 minutes before shutting down EVERY time you drive)

Then when you do the fourth mod, and upgrade the ECU, be sure to add a boost controller (ie:Greddy Profec B) so you can tune down the boost on hazard driving days (rain, snow, etc)

Good Luck!

I am not familiar with the boost on these cars. What boost levels do I need to keep it to if I do the mods you specified without the computer?

Those mods that affect airflow (intake, exhaust, dp) cause boost spikes. Stock is 10lbs, but those mods might cause boost spikes (causing boost to go higher than stock). This may lead to a blown motor if fuel requirements are not met.
