Can someone please explain to me what these engine actually are. Are they new engines or rebuilt? In Australia we don't have anything like this.

They are rebuilt by Mazda. I have one in my car. It was replaced by the previous owner, and I have his bills for it. $3,000 installed (US dollars) back in 1997. I've put about 15,000 miles on it, trouble-free. This is a non-turbo engine.

 

Have a S5 TII Mazda remanufactured (rebuilt) in my '89. Installed in 2002. They come with a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. It was $1977 from Malloy Mazda with gaskets and shipping.
Remanufactured engine comes with :
Flywheel
Front cover
Main pulley
Oil Pump
Water Pump
Thermostat
Oil Pan

 

X Mazda tech, when the 3ed gen frist came out there where no reman cors, so Mazda was given away new engines until the pipe line got some cors, around 1900$

 

Got my TII enginre rebuilt by Mazda at 19000 miles(coolant seal) paid 4K installed.......I have about 18Kmi on it, but the TII body is gone......it's going into a GTUs.
