fire... hoses/fuel lines
I might be buying an fd that had an engine fire. Seller recomends replacing fuel lines and vac hoses. Its a tedious job with the hoses I know that, so i was wondering how much would (on the avarage) a shop charge to replace vac hoses and fuel lines? Do I need to find a rotary shop or can most shops handle this?
also what else should I check?
the reason I am buying a salvage is I have a 10k limit to spend and its hard to find an fd in good condition for that much. That and the seller is with in 2 hours drive.
If any of you guys know someone who is selling and fd for 10k or less PLEASE do tell.
Thanks!

It might not be worth it.
If it was a REALLY MINOR fire (i.e. owner had a fire extinguisher), then it's a few hoses. In reality, the main engine harness is burnt (several hundred dollars), the primary fuel injectors are melted (several hundred dollars), the oil injectors + lines are melted (about $100), and a bunch of control solenoids are melted (several hundred dollars). When you add that up, you're looking at a couple grand just in parts! If you can get these parts used, it'll help, but it's still a big project.
There's a reason why these cars are TOTALLED.

yeah, actually now that I re-read the add, I saw I skipped over something.
"The harness, injectors, solenoids, vac lines and related fuel hoses were damaged."
can it be fixed for 1k? probably not... I am getting desperate here *sigh* I have to find an fd very soon and no more then 10k, if I dont I will have to settle for some honda or something else, either way it wont be a 7 and it will haunt me every time i get in it...
