Max Retard

I am trying to find out what the max retard can be before you actually fire the plug in the next compression stroke.

Think about it this way,

Rotor 1 is at TDC, how many degrees before the (2nd apex seal) goes over the leading spark plug hole, thus starting the next compression stroke.

I am trying to see how much retard i can run for a 2 step before i start to fire the plug when the following face is trying to compress the next fuel mix.

Basically causing detonation because the plug is firing WAY TO LATE, and is actually firing the next compression stroke.

I hope this isnt that confusing.

i think i get ya...... for every three rotations of the eccentric shaft, the rotor spins once. This means that you would have to retard it until the apex seal from the previous stroke passes both plugs. for one crank revolution the rotor moves 120 degrees.

so at full throttle, it is fired at 25 degrees BTDC, for maximum pressure at 45 degrees after tdc. this means combustion takes approc 70 degrees crank angle.

give me a minute, i dontr know where im going with this lol...
