Low Coolant light and warning alarm won't turn off

I rebuilt my engine this past summer and when I reinstalled it, it started up the first go, but my low coolant light and warning tone come on and won't shut off. I've purged the coolant system with the Lisle funnel kit. I've tried grounding out the low coolant sensor. I was getting 3 ohms of resistance on the wire. FSM just says continuity which 3 ohms is close to. I grounded it out to get straight 0 ohms and still stays on. Here's the kicker....If I turn my key to "ON" without starting it, 12 seconds later the light brightens and the warning tone sounds. Turn key to off and then right back to ON and it sounds right away. If I let the car sit for a minute, then turn the key to ON, it takes another 12 seconds.

My next check is going to be at the ECU just to make sure I'm getting the correct input to 3D (according to the FSM).

SO.....my question to all is, has anyone ever encountered this problem and if so, what was the fix.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!!

On the left side of the engine behid the P/S pump, you have either not plugged in the single wire black connector or you have plugged it into the white connector for the A/C.

Just checked what you said and if I read what you wrote correctly...they won't plug into each other.

The black wire coming off of the p/s pump is plugged into a blue w/ yellow stripe wire plug.
The A/C wire is black w/ white stripe plugged into a single black wire coming off of the alternator harness. Hope that makes sense.

Don't worry about the wire from the P/S pump.

A/C compressor plugs into single black w/red stripe wire with white connector on the alt harness.

The coolant level sensor is a black wire that connects to the single brown with white stripe wire with black connector in the same location with the same style plug.

I'll have to check it when I get home from the Tokyo Auto Salon. I pretty sure it's hooked up correctly. I do remember seeing that the A/C connector is white, but had it plugged into a black connector coming off of the alt. harness.

The low coolant sensor is connected to the plug underneath the intercooler pipe bracket (next to the alt on the opposite side as the p/s pump) and then I can't see where it goes from there into the harness (from my memory). I did look at it before I left and saw that the sensor wire itself is black, plugs into a black with red horizontal stripes (vs. a single stripe). So I'll have to hunt down this br/w wire you're talking about.

I will say it once more:

White connector to White connector for A/C.

Black connector to black connector for the low coolant buzzer.

You have your A/C plugged into the low coolant wire. The wire is only about 18" long and enters the emmissions harness behind the alternator and exits by the knock sensor.

There are hundreds of threads with people that have made the same mistake as you.

LOL, ok, I really do appreciate it and glad it was a simple stupid mistake on my part. It's a mistake I didn't mark those connectors like I did the rest when I had disconnected them for the engine rebuild. I searched, but didn't find any other threads and I'm a noob to the rotary world. Again, thanks!!!
