Exclamation lots and lots and lots of bad news

so im getting my first rx-7 86 13b non turbo for $400, has a clean shell ,shitty in the inside but heres the issue when i started the car it SMOKES up nothing but white smoke, can it be the seals? i want to rebuild the motor but idk how much, where, or if i should do it myself. idk you should know where im going with this, and just to let you all know ill be modding as a project car so ill be posting up pix

if your getting the car for that cheap..i say you buy a rebuild video and do it yourself. its great to learn and know exactly whats going on under your hood..and how everything works.

sounds like the seals are going out. how's the coolant level been? if you've been adding alot of coolant/water, that's a good sign that the seals are blown. if this is the case, the smoke should smell sweet from the antifreeze burning off.

hmm so it is the seals. awesome. does anyone know where i can find some good seals plus whats the diff in size seals like 3 mm 2 mm???? which should i go with?

no, not the apex seals but the coolant seals that seal the rotor housing. mileage and even a small overheat can cause the coolant seals to become weak and blow out. as for which seals to use, since this is an N/A just stick with the 2mm seals. the only reasons why someone would consider going with 3mm seals is if the apex seal grooves in the rotors where damaged.
