Long-term storage

I’m in unfamiliar territory. My FD was “in storage” for about 6 years because of a medical condition and a boost problem. It was started/run during that time, however probably not as often as it should have been. The last time I tried, it would not start...bad gas I think. Now I’m trying to get it back on the road.

Guys on one of the Facebook groups told me I should pour Marvel Mystery Oil into the LIM and let it run into the rotor housings. Anyone ever done this? The motor is not frozen, it turns over fine, but they said this will lubricate all the seals, which would e dried out after sitting so long. So how much oil do I want to put in there?

Once I get it started I’ll probably be asking ore questions. I’ve got a boost problem to figure out, the secondary turbo did not seem to be coming online. I couldn’t get the 8lbs required to activate the turbo control for some reason. Had some custom intercooler work done before I left Seattle, and it hasn’t boosted right since. Sure would like to get back on the road now that I have a good place to work on it.

oil in the engine isn't a bad idea, although it doesn't need it either. it doesn't need to be MMO either, it can be any light oil. a cap full of oil is probably enough for the whole engine, but maybe one per rotor is more normal.

6 year old gas is probably bad, but it would probably still start the car. ideally you would disable the fuel pump, and crank until you see oil pressure.
