Trouble past 5,500 RPMS !!!

Hey all,

I took afew minutes and used the search option to see if I could find any past posts to relate to my probelm right now. I didnt.....

Well... my problem is, I already know I have a pretty damn good oil leak as Im putting about half a quart of oil in every 3 to 4 days.

Secondly...... if I take off fast and go past 5,500 RPMS my car blows out smoke. Enough to make the person bhind me slow down and get out from behind me. Not occasionally, every time. THere is a noticeable power loss pas 5,500 as well, I can feel the engine struggling to go this high. Was just curious if anyone here knew what might be my problem. Im thinking it has somthing to do with my secondary turbo but I'm probably wrong.

Thanks,

Sounds like your turbo to me. Take loose the piping from the turbo Y-pipe crossover to intercooler, you will probably notice alot of oil in there. While some oil is typical I'm betting you will find alot. Good luck.

Oil in Y pipe

Any idea as to what is causing the oil build up? I plan on getting a new engine within the next few months and am trying to figure out the cost of replacing/rebuilding the turbos as well... Would I have more luck switching to a single turbo when I finally decide to replace my engine?

You are building up oil because you turbo oil seals are compromised (bad). So when you are under boost on your secondary turbo oil is being forced by the seals into your intercooler plumbing, and then through the engine, ignited, and smoked out your exhaust. What symptoms of a bad motor do you have? It may just be your turbos instead. Good luck.
