lightened flywheel insert question

Im buying a lightened flywheel but it definitely needs to be resurfaced or the insert needs to be replaced. Can you remove the insert and have it resurfaced on a lathe like normal or do you have to buy a new one and how much is a new one from clutchnet?

The insert can be on the fw and be sanded down to clean it up. most inserts are to thin to turn with out the fw to stiffen it .This will work if the surface is not very grooved or burnt . Normal solid fly wheels are not resurfaced on a lathe as a rule . check with acouple of auto machine shops to see if I am right. Garfinkle has cleaned up one on a big LaBlont lathe using a die grinder and twistloc sanding disk .
