Just got car - problem, please help

Hi Guys

OK, some advice would be greatly appreciated. I’ve only had the car a few days and it has this problem which is spoiling the whole ‘driving fab new car’ feeling you get

PLEASE PLEASE HELP

When I accelerate and the turbo starts to wind up and the boost increases, the car feels like it hesitates, holds back and back fires a lot. Misfiring? I have read the post from Luciano (who has been an absolute star via PM) but im not convinced it is the same problem.

I think I first noticed this begin to happen after whilst in neutral I revved it up and down to see if the BOV kicked in. May well be completely unrelated. Anyway, this was not noticeably present whilst taking the car for its test drive a few hours before. So it appears the fault has just occurred (just my luck to be honest)

About ten years ago I had a modified RS Turbo, I put some aftermarket plugs in it and it did EXACTLY this. Almost like its misfiring, plugs couldn’t cope with the boost?? But I changed them and the problem was solved. Does this sound like a likely cause here? It has just had a service by a specialist though. Could it be a faulty plug? Or may be one of the HT leads?

I have noticed the exhaust / muffler is blowing somewhere near the engine, could this be a cause?

Could the ECU have picked up a fault, and is stopping the turbos from boosting up to the max? Only thing is, it does seem worse when the car is warmed up, so unlikely to be ECU recognising a fault?

Any advice would be really appreciated
Thanks in advance

Mark
