I need help with pressing a rotor bearing

I'm pressing in new rotor bearings in my engine rotors I froze my bearings, and pressed one in. Near the end it warmed back up and I can't center the bearing as it sits open ended. When I apply pressure it wont move until i apply more pressure. Finally it will pop forward with under an 8th of an inch of movement, this is far too much movement when I need only about a 1/16ht of an inch of movement at a time. Would heating the whole damn thing help it out? Does the bearing need to be 100% centered?

Try putting the rotor in the oven for a little while, that may do the trick. We picked up a cheap toaster oven at Goodwill just for that purpose.
