I Need Advice
I dont have alot of experience with rx-7's. But im thinking of Purchasing a 84 gs for $400. Body is in really good condition and all that. There is some problem with the engine in this car and im not sure what it is and i am wanting some advice and wanted to see what some of u had to say about this. The car u have to push it to get it started and after that it will run. The car seems to have lost about half of its power though and the owner isnt sure exactly what is wrong with it. I'm guessing he wants to sell it because he doesnt feel like messing with it. My first idea was to do a complete engine swap. I'm guessing its a 12A engine. I was needing to know whether it would be cheaper to do the engine swap or have it repaired. the engine has about 200,000 miles on it. The rest of the car is in awsome condition.

All just depends on how much you can get another engine for. You will have to trouble shoot the engine and see what is wrong with it? If the engine has that many miles you probably need to replace all bearings, seals, springs and gaskets! And DONT forget to street port while it is open!
I found a whole engine for $400. They said they will install it for 150 but i can get it installed for free. You think its worth it?
it is a 12A motor. What kind of horsepower do you think i could get out of this if i started modding it. Or should i go ahead and try to find a 13B?
I was wondering how much they generaly weigh because i need to figure a way to transport it if i am going to have my school install it at our autotech class.
