i found this plug thingy???

i found this plug thingy???

i found this unpluged while i was doing my radiator install. it is located directly under the intake pipes. the car ran fine before i started my install so i was wondering what this thing is monitering? i think i will try to drive my car with it when i finish my install with it plugged in and without it. maybe i can pick up some speed!!!!!! just tell me what you think it is and what i should do besides my plan. thanks

It's the electrical connection for the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recycler). It's part of the worthless emissions control system. Just leave it unplugged. If you're ever behind the y-pipe, then remove the EGR and block it off. Your car must be a '93, right?
